Dr. Kristin Mansell is a former science educator with over twenty years of experience as a secondary science teacher.
Dr. Kristin Mansell is a former science educator with over twenty years of experience as a secondary science teacher. As a practitioner, she received National Board Certification in Early Adolescent Science in 2009 and renewed in 2019. Additionally, she was awarded Utah’s 7th grade science teacher of the year in 2023 by the Utah Science Teacher Association. Kristin has presented at the Alabama Science Teacher Association, Utah Science Teacher Association, and the National Science Teacher Association Conferences multiple times focusing on the use of formative assessments in the science classroom as well as innovate inquiry methods using argumentative inquiry.
As an education consultant and professional development leader, Kristin focuses on the PLC process and how this work informs science pedagogical decision making based on the 3 Big Ideas and 4 Critical Questions of professional learning communities. In addition, Kristin works with collaborative teams on the use of assessments, both formative and summative, and how this data can create a dynamic collaborative conversation of intervention and extension techniques.
